The university engaged JZA+D to design and build a new physics laboratory dedicated to optics research from two existing spaces, a smaller existing lab and a lounge space, on the first floor of Rowan's Science Hall.
The new lab required a 5’x8’ Optics table, with a blackout curtain for user isolation, with a Unistrut system with compressed air above the tables. Two new 4-foot fume hoods, a new glassware storage cabinet, sink, drying rack, and emergency eyewash and shower were installed, along with gas (argon, nitrogen, and natural gas), vacuum, compressed air and deionized water services.
